Waldar Weerman

My name is Waldar Weerman. In 1999 I graduated from the Free Pedagogical Academy in Zeist; training to become a Waldorf teacher. After my studies, I worked in various fields, including Waldorf education, the arts & recreation sector and biodynamic agriculture & horticulture. The past year, I worked as an activity leader in a mill/bakery in Maastricht where I gave flan baking lessons and told history stories. I also lived off the proceeds of my paintings and gave painting courses. I currently work on an organic herb plantation in Portugal.

Living painting

In fact, I moved to Portugal at the end of September. I live there with my fiancée Aurora in a quiet place to prepare for my studies at the priests' seminary in Hamburg. These studies will start in spring 2025. A great adventure where I will now apply to myself what I have been practising all these years with my paintings: consciously letting go of form, living from the now, from my heart and seeking the balance between light and darkness...Finding an inner source of light that radiates from inside to outside, as has been my aspiration with all my paintings. In Portugal, I work on an organic herb plantation where I distil essential oils. Among other things, I use these oils myself to paint with. A miraculous, almost alchemical process and, above all, a pleasure to do.

Priest Seminar

In April 2025, I will then study at the priests' seminary in Hamburg. This is a part-time course so I will be flying back and forth. There are direct flights to Hamburg from Lisbon. .
